Recently (2007) renamed from Apple Computers to Apple Incorporated to reflect the additional directions Apple are now involved in; which include computer hardware, OS and software programs, the Apple iPhone (a visually advanced mobile phone), iTunes (on-line music library/store).

Steve Jobs is a legendary Apple CEO, who also has interested in Dreamworks (film production) and Disney (children’s entertainment).

Apple computers were originally Motorola CPU (last version the PowerPC) based and ran their own Operating System (OS) up to OS 9 / OS X.

A conversion over to Intel CPU based hardware, has necessitated OS X applications which support the Intel core named “Universal Binary”. Not all applications have been converted to Universal Binary yet (still).
